This has been my second year on Stan and following his phenomenal success last season I feel privileged to have been allowed to have him for what has been another brilliant year. After a quiet winter Stan returned to the show ring to what was a somewhat limited start due to my GCSE exams. Unfortunately, many of the shows we were champion at last year, such as Cheshire, Lincoln and midland country, clashed completely with exam dates. Never the less the latter part of the season proved enough consolation as Stan was first and champion at shows including The Royal, Staffs festival, Chard, BSPS area 5 and also for the second year running at BSPS Wales.
Following Stan's achievements at last years BSPS Summer champs I felt any result would be a bonus, so to come away from the show with two reserve champions and to have retained the Red division premier league championship was brilliant. But finally, to win the Desert Orchid championship for the second year in succession was unbelievable. Simply to jump clear around that track is an achievement, so to do this and get champion for the second time together was more than I would ever have imagined.
Again I have to thank Lynne Lloyd and Mike Butcher for their continued help in schooling Stan to perfection! Also, from the bottom of my heart I would like to thank the Lears family for all their help over the two years and for giving me the opportunity to have such a talented pony.
Of course I have to thank the man himself, Stan. To me there will never be another pony lie you. Thanks for making all this possible for me, you are a dream to ride and a dream to have on our yard.
Lastly I have to thank my parents, especially my mum, she has driven me across the country and back since I was in the first ridden and she alone knows how much this means to me. Thank you!
