Freedom came to us in September of 2004, direct from his breeder in Ireland, Mr Nigel Cathers. He was a rangy athletic individual who possessed a fabulous outlook on like and a wonderful way of going.

He had quite a quiet four year old season in 2005, but notched up some impressive wins including Three Counties, Welsh Champs and second at RIHS ably ridden by Bibi Cuthbert and Nick Schofield.  Gemma also rode him in two intermediate classes winning both and being Champion at the BSPS Championships.

This season Freedom has gone from strength to strength with Charlotte and Gemma sharing the ride on him. Some of his major wins include Devon County, Shropshire and West Midlands, Northern Horse Show, Great Yorkshire. It was absolutely fantastic to win the Blue Riband Show Pony Championship. He also went straight on to win the Blue Riband Intermediate S.R.T. before standing reserve champion to his stable mate Banjo.

And so on to HOYS where after two very polished performances he stood second in the 148cms show pony class and the icing on the cake, he was crowned Oggy Oggy Pasty Co. Intermediate S.R.T. of the Year 2006.  What a pony!

Freedom has now been sold and I hope he gives his new owners as much pleasure as he has given us.
