Richard and Jane (Mum and Dad) went on one their ‘horse shopping trips’ in November 2005. They came across a lovely three year old owned by her breeder Stuart Graves. The deal was done, she arrived to us and Richard broke her. The plan was to do novice riding horse with Becky for her four year old year but Foxy had other ideas winning nearly everything she did and qualified for RIHS and HOYS in the two open riding horse classes she did, being placed 8th at HOYS.
We decided that for 2007 we would do riding horse again with Becky and try some show riding type with James on board as Becky is too old. James did a couple of classes qualifying her for the BSPS Winter Championships but he did not want to wear a blue show jacket as he felt it is too feminine for him and the picture just was not quite right with him in tweed so we decided we needed a different jockey. So James suggested his girlfriend Jade. Foxy and Jade started their partnership as they meant to go on by winning their first show, then at the Winter Championships they won both the RIHS and HOYS qualifier, because of their early qualification they did not need to do too much through the summer and Foxy could then do more riding horse with Becky which she won the riding horse at BSPS Winter Championships, Cheshire Premier, Royal Highland, Cheshire County and Bakewell.
Then to the BSPS Summer Championships for Jade and Foxy, the first class of the week being the novice SRT, which they won and went through to the Summer Intermediate Supreme Evening Championship where they went Reserve, which all concerned were delighted with. They went through to the final ten of the Blue Riband SRT and gave yet another foot perfect performance to be second, which again we were delighted with, but this put them through to the Intermediate Blue Riband Championship, which we were really looking forward to as the method of judging on performance really suits Foxy as her performance would only be enhanced by the atmosphere of the evening. Well, as we anticipated Jade and Foxy were breathtaking and were called forward to be 2007 Blue Riband Intermediate Champion. Words can’t explain how proud we were of them.
