Roseberry Highland Fling
By Sue Hinchliffe & Charlotte Thompson

Harry, Roseberry Highland Fling by Duntarvie Catamount out of our homebred mare Roseberry County Affair spent his first few months playing with the other foals. He was always easy and pleasant to look after.

He was lightly shown, successfully in-hand, by Alan Charlesworth, culminating in being Supreme at NPS Area 4.

To further his career it was decided to ask Gill Thompson if she would produce Harry, and also would she possibly know of a suitable jockey for him. As his charming, unflappable nature shone through, Gill with infinite wisdom introduced her daughter Charlotte to Harry – what a fabulous pairing; Charlotte and Harry forged a strong partnership, trusting each other completely and have gone from strength to strength.

Charlotte adds, “I first sat on Harry in January 2006, I fell in love with him straight away.  Our first season together was a great success, winning all our novice classes and then going on to win the open at the Royal and the RIHS, where we finished Reserve Champion.
I was lucky enough to have the ride on Harry for the 2007 season, what a season this has been; to be Supreme Champion, Midland Counties, Top Spec Supreme, Northern Horse, and Leventhorpe Supreme and then to achieve my ultimate dream, the Legend Blue Riband Championship.  What a star – it felt amazing when my name was called out.
I would like to say a BIG thank you to Sue Hinchliffe, Tammy Heathcote, Mandy, Joe, Sharon, Vera Holden and my Dad and my Mum for everything she done for me and Harry; for making my dreams come true.”

As the breeders of Harry, Tammy and I would like to say a big thank you to the B.S.P.S. and the sponsors for providing such a super showcase for the ponies and children.
Finally, a huge thank you to Gill and Charlotte for making Harry ‘Simply the Best’.
