Woodfield Cross
The “Desert Orchid” Blue Riband W.H.P. Champion, 2007

Woodfield Cross affectionately known as ‘Millie’ at home was bought by my dad, (Brian Lears), at Goresbridge Horse sales in Ireland as a ‘green’ four year old.  I have brought her on myself, initially show jumping over the winter and competing in novice intermediate working hunter classes.

Her first big achievement as a five year old was when she won the Restricted Intermediate class at the B.S.P.S. Winter Championships.  She then went on to qualify for the Royal International Horse Show and Horse of the Year Show every year.  She has also qualified four times for the Working Hunter Horse at H.O.Y.S.

She has won numerous county shows and won the Intermediate Desert Orchid twice, finishing Reserve Champion and this year (2007) Champion.

This year was my final year in Intermediate classes and I was lucky enough to finish with the best show I have had.

Millie won three classes, the Open Intermediate Working Hunter, the H.O.Y.S. Working Hunter Horse and the Desert Orchid and Championship.

Millie has been one of the most honest and reliable horses I have ever owned and ridden and been a pleasure to ride. Millie is not just a horse but a member of the family.

I would like to thank Keith Shore for his help and teaching me over the years.
