Wellbrow Diplomat is a 9 year old black Fell stallion by Heltondale Mountain Mist II x Heltondale Duchess who myself and my sister Louise Garforth have owned since a yearling.

Dippy’s highlights this year include being placed at the Royal International before qualifying for HOYS at the New Forest Show where he also stood champion.  In September we headed to the FPS Southern Breed show where he gained his Semi Final ticket and was Ridden Champion and overall Reserve Supreme.  After being placed at HOYS again this year Hayley and Dippy topped off an incredible season qualifying for Olympia at the BSPS Heritage Champs.

Dippy is an absolute pleasure to own and has a home with us for life.  We are so proud of everything he has achieved and as Hayley has qualified 2 ponies for Olympia this year I am delighted and very excited to fulfil my lifetime ambition of riding my pony of a lifetime myself at the biggest show of the year.

In just two seasons William has had an amazing start to his showing career including a 2nd, 4th and 6th at the Royal International and 4th at Horse of the Year Show. He finished just one mark out of the top 10 at Olympia last year.

He does not just have an exceptional showing record but he is also the kindest person, he enjoys a varied life of hacking, jumping and regular trips to the gallops too.

OKEDENE JUSTIN - Lesley Cook - Qualifed at BSPS Heritage Ch 2019
I bought Justin over a year ago.

I was contacted by Hayley who owned him originally as she wanted to keep track of him. I was recovering from an accident at the time and asked Hayley if she would like to do the Hoys qualifiers and ride at the final. Hayley rode him for his previous owners and qualified him for Hoys twice before. The pair qualified on their first attempt of the season at Derbyshire Festival, he then went to Hayley before Hoys and they won the New forest class which was just amazing. They then went on to qualify at the heritage champs for Olympia winning a very strong New forest direct qualifier.

I’ve been to Hoys with our hack but this is my first time at Olympia

His past is an interesting story.

He was bought by Hayley as a 3year colt out of an allotment in Leeds city centre for just £260 having been advertised as project pony on Facebook!

He has really come full circle and has a “rags to riches” story and throughly deserves all his success!

CREE MARVIN - Katherine Bowling-Hartenfeld - Qualified at BSPS Heritage Ch 2019
Cree Marvin. 8 year old gelding.  Owned and Ridden by Katherine Bowling-Hartenfeld.

Having purchased Marvin as a four year old, he has had some fantastic results. He has been novice, restricted and open champion at BSPS championship shows. He has won too many major shows and championships to mention, and qualified HOYS in 2017 and in 2019 by standing champion at Monmouth show. He qualified RIHS in 2018 at his first qualifier where he stood 7th at the final.

Marvin is lovely inside, and out. He is the kindest most loving pony to have at home, and we will enjoy our time at olympia.

MENAI EUROSTAR - Karen Johnson - Qualified at Countryside Live 2019

Menai Eurostar topped an incredible season by taking the championship and qualifying for Olympia at Countryside Live. With boggy ground and testing going he performed flawlessly throughout.

Following two reserve championships, one at Hickstead Derby and the other at BSPS Wales he finally clinched the elusive spot!

We’ve made fabulous memories this year winning three HOYS qualifiers at the South of England, NCPA Staffordshire & North of England, taking two championships and a reserve. He also won the Royal Welsh Stallion class for the second time.

In between showing Clare & GB enjoy dressage, they train with Herefordshire based David Pincus, GB enjoys the discipline and challenges within his training and competition.

He’s incredibly special to us all, the comedian that he is, and we are delighted he will be privileged enough to compete at Olympia again.

His usual other half Clare Fitch will partner him at the final.

FIRLE RICARDO - Joanne Stone - Qualified at BSPS Heritage Ch 2019

Firle Ricardo or ‘The Special One’ as he is affectionately known  is a 5 year old Shetland Stallion ridden by the talented young jockey Grace Litherland.
Bred by my friend Debbie Barr he spent his formative years on the Sussex Downs before joining me at the tail end of last year. From the very first moment that I saw Ricardo I knew that he was exceptional and this year has certainly proved that.
We started out with a couple of successful outings In-hand to gain some experience before embarking out under saddle. Ricardo’s ridden career started off equally as successful with a nice few novice wins during the winter.
This year has been truly incredible qualifying for Royal International, HOYS and now Olympia.
At home he is an absolute pleasure and certainly has the most beautiful personality which comes to light in the show ring where he loves to perform.
Excited is an understatement as we really can’t wait to watch him and Grace strut their stuff under the Christmas Lights at the wonderful show that is Olympia.

DROGEDA VALENTINO - Rachel Cooper - Qualified at BSPS Heritage Ch 2019
Drogeda Valentino, bred by Malcolm Peaty, was purchased in July from Amy Simcox after Aimee Devane handpicked him out as a perfect pony for myself.

Tino had a long and successful in hand career before he was purchased through the cob sales in 2016 for a career change. He was broken at nine and brought on slowly.

2019 marked his first season contesting as an open pony. He won the first HOYS qualifier of the year before standing third at the final, as well as qualifying for RIHS and Olympia. He also picked up wins at NPS and BSPS Heritage champs and second at the Royal Welsh (my first ride on him in  the ring - what an experience!)

This will be Tino’s first visit to Olympia and the second time I have come up against my brother in this class.

WALSTEAD GUINESS - Vanessa Clark - Qualified at BSPS Heritage Ch 2019

Guiness has been knocking on the door of Olympia having had 2 reserve championships in the straight through classes. Therefore, I am delighted that he has got an opportunity to compete and represent his breed at Olympia, which he truly deserves. He combines junior classes with open and had a very successful year, last year, winning the large breed class at the Royal International and being Supreme Junior at the Heritage Show ridden by my god daughter Annabel Drake.  He is a real family pony at home enjoying his hacking and trips to the beach.

NIPNA GOLDEN POPPY - Hannah Sheldon - Qualified at BSPS Heritage Ch 2019

Nipna Golden Poppy was Bred by Julie Pennell, and has been owned by Hannah Sheldon since she was 6 months old.  She has shown successfully in hand with multiple wins and championships at Royal Cheshire County and a win at Royal Windsor.  She was also a Hoys finalist in 2018 and was placed 7th at Hoys in 2019.   Poppy has been with Sarah Parker since February to develop her ridden career and has gone from strength to strength in that time

GRISEBURN FAYE - Gillian Simpson - Qualified at BSPS Heritage Ch 2019
Griseburn Faye, bred by Helen Horn, owned by Gill Simpson, we have owned Faye since a 3yro, she had a successful novice year and has had two previous successful open years qualifying for HOYS both years.

Faye came out late this season due to me having a baby but we decided to do a few later qualifiers. Aimee Devane qualified her for HOYS for the third year running at Stoneleigh, the second time qualifying at that show!

Aimee also qualified Faye at the BSPS Heritage champs but I will get the ride (lucky me!!) This will be mine and Fayes first visit to Olympia. I can’t wait to get back in the ring for the first time this year.

LUNESDALE DIXIE - Christina Gough - Qualified at BSPS Heritage Ch 2019

Lunesdale Dixie is without a doubt my pony of a life time. We have owned Dixie since 2015. In this time we have both achieved some wonderful and very memorable results. Dixie has qualified for RIHS, HOYS and Olympia every year gaining best of breed there last term.

Dixie is the most charming stallion to own, an absolute school master; always performing in the ring and never letting me down. He has an abundance of fans, and is know far and wide.

A certain yard favourite at home in Cheshire where he is stabled and produced by the Jinks Show Team, he spends most of his time hacking, however most importantly leading out the youngsters throughout the winter down the roads and lanes. He is simply everyone's best friend.

It is an honour and privilege to have qualified for Olympia for the fourth consecutive year, and I look forward to representing the Fell pony and hopefully doing everyone and Dixie proud.

LOTUSPOINT CASSIUS - Rachel Brightmore - Qualified at BSPS Heritage Ch 2019

Cass is a 12yr old gelding bred by the late John Hodgson and his wife Christine of the Lotuspoint stud. He joined us in April last year where he was purchased over the phone as a stallion still running out with his mares! He was gelded straight away and soon became the most perfect child’s pony introducing Olivia into the first ridden classes at the age of 7, successfully taking her to HOYs and RIHS, and winning many championships along the way!! The pair qualified for Olympia at the Heritage Champs where they stepped up into the open classes and proving they can hold there own amongst the older, more experienced jockeys they had a very successful show with two championship titles and a supreme! Although Cass has been to Olympia once before this will be Olivia’s first ever time visiting let alone competing and she is beyond excited to be taking her best boy where I’m sure she will go and have lots of fun and get into the Christmas spirit! She can’t wait!!

GREENHOLME WARBLER - Claire Wigley - Qualified at BSPS Heritage Ch 2019

Greenholme Warbler, Wally senior to his friends and family is a 15-year-old fell stallion bred by Mr Bill Potter Cumbria out of Teabay Duchess and by the well known stallion Linnel Reynard.

After being a stud stallion for a number of years Wally was successfully shown before he came to live with us as a 7-year-old.

Wally has the sunniest of temperments making him a privilege to own and with this has become a firm favourite within the family and anybody who meets him.

After taking semi-retirement 3 years ago Wally decided that it actually wasn’t time to hang up his bridle just yet and with this made a few limited appearances over the season at our favourite shows expertly ridden as always by his long term partner Katy Marriott Payne.

Wally smashed all expectations with a fabulous 2nd placement at Three Counties and wins at Lincoln County, Great Yorkshire and then taking 2nd place at HOYS.

To qualify for Olympia after all that he achieved this season in such a strong breed class was out of this world and just confirmed to us even more so what a special pony Wally is.

SKELLORN ROYAL ANNIVERSARY - Victoria Oakes - Qualified at BSPS Heritage Ch 2019

Skellorn Royal Anniversary or Andy as he is known at home. He came to me as a weaned foal, having always loved his mum Skellorn Barbie Doll and his dad Skellorn Bronze Soldier, I was so pleased his breeder Kerry Wainwright allowed me to have him.

I hoped he would be my little superstar. I broke him in at 4 and turned away to mature on.

He has only done a handful of shows but has always had an amazing temperament and attitude. This led to him going off to Steve Dent and being the "Princess” pony in the Netflix series Free Rein.

He qualified RIHS  at his first show this year by winning Staffs County and finished a credible 7th at RIHS.

Qualifying him for Olympia is a dream come true because he is so special to me, we are very excited to go and see Santa!

MALLARDS WOOD APOLLO - Victoria Edwards-Sonnex - Qualified at BSPS Heritage Ch 2019

Bred by Robert Maton and coming from some of the best forest bred supreme champions, Apollo was destined for a career as a stud stallion at The Mallards Wood stud in the New Forest.

We spotted Apollo by chance at the stud running with his mares and instantly fell in love with his temperament. We believed he would make a tremendous ridden pony and after convincing Robert the same he was expertly broken by Sam Roberts.  He took to his new job with ease and enjoyment.

Having started the season as a novice pony he has exceeded all our expectations qualifying for and being placed in three classes at the RIHS, standing 5th at HOYS and now qualifying Olympia.
