Amendments to 2024 BSPS Rule & Show Handbook

Rule 15b – In BSPS plaited Working Hunter/Sports Pony Classes only where the class requires a height certificate,( height restricted classes)  including the RIHS WHP classes, a FEI height certificate will be accepted providing that;

  1. I) The certificate was issued before the 1st January in the current year.
    2) A copy of the certificate is sent to the BSPS office for verification.
    3)  Regardless of the status of the FEI height certificate, the BSPS has the right to request a measurement on the pony at the owners expense within 21 days of notification by the BSPS though the Joint Measurement Board. See also rule 77
    4) An animal that is required to be remeasured, and measures over the required height classification for the class will forfeit any previous qualification gained for the RIHS and BSPS championship shows or classes in the current year and qualification will pass down to the next eligible exhibit within the eligible places.

The following restrictions apply;
1) If the pony competes in any other classes that are height restricted, where a height certificate is required, the pony will also require a valid JMB Annual or Full Height Certificate.

Rule 47 – Mobile telephones, Smart watches and ear pieces must not be taken in the ring.

Rule 195 – Animals eligible for Challenge Nursery Stakes classes must not have qualified for RIHS in the relevant class in the current or previous year.

Page 48 – Home produced status – Open to Horses/Ponies which are either stabled at home or in a   D. I. Y. yard and have not been shown by a Professional Producer in 2023, 2024 or 2025 or stabled in a Professional yard at any time in the 2023, 2024 or 2025 Season.

Rule 534 – The marks for the London Performance classes has been amended as follows:
Performance – 70 Marks
Manners and way of going – 10 Marks
Presentation, suitability and condition – 10 Marks
Type and Freedom of Action – 10 Marks

Rule 488 – Judges may only judge one qualifier for LIHS.
